Before the coronavirus pandemic, Lockheed Martin faced typical uncertainty in forecasting Lockheed Martin Corporation faced uncertainty regarding defense spending, and the U.S. government, is the company’s main customer. Lockheed Martin has operations in the global security, aeronautics, information systems, and space systems industry. There has also been increased competition from BAE Systems, Boeing and Airbus, which are international defense companies.

As the company’s primary customer is the U.S. government, there was a need to consider defense spending and regulations. In the past, the U.S. government imposed restrictions on the F-22 aircraft, and there may be other restrictions, especially to China. There is increased competition from the international defense companies that get defense contacts in different countries.
