For this assignment, you will create a communication strategy that fosters change and innovation in an organization.
Explain the context in which it occurs and the options that are available. Develop a solution that will solve the organizational issue and meet the needs of the people involved.
In the report, you will provide a potential audience analysis, create a purposeful message, and discuss a type of channel that you could use for feedback. Include answers to Neal’s (2010) communication questions, which are listed below:
1. What am I trying to achieve?
2. How will my audience react to what I am trying to achieve?
3. Will my message be resisted?
4. What do I know about my audience that will help me tailor my message?
Do not include the question/answers in a bullet or list format. Instead, integrate the responses in your paragraphs. Use the standard five-paragraph format (introduction/body/conclusion). For the growth of any organization to be realized, there is always the need for consistent and constant change through innovation. This breeds new ideas which can help in the overall growth of the organization as well as give it a competitive edge over its competitors. Coming up with change and innovation in an organization calls for an effective communication process, which basically aims at ensuring there is the encapsulation of all the basics. Under current turbulent economic times, it is almost mandatory that a communications plan reaches or achieves its set goals. The aim of this plan is to set out a clear pathway through which change and innovation can be done seamlessly, within the organization.
The first thing to do in the development of this communications plan is looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the organization. The strengths include a strong organizational culture, self-driven members of staff and ease of access to higher levels of authority. These perhaps make the task a little bit simple, because an organization with a strong organizational culture is also strong in almost every other thing(Keyton,2011). Organizational culture enables new ideas to be easily embraced by the employees without a lot of friction or resistance. The main weakness is the lack of proper follow-up whenever some ideas are implemented. When follow-up or supervision isn’t there, chances of laxity and subsequent disregard of new policies are likely to happen.
The second step is now the formulation of the plan. Training of the employees precedes any other step. The staff should be trained on the benefits of change an innovation, while also looking at the ways they can ensure this is implemented. ...
