In the modern world, airplanes travel the entire planet carrying people and cargo to their destinations. Due to these huge changes, the planet now resembles a little hamlet where everyone can travel whenever they want to any location they choose. Paul Goodman in his article discusses the benefits of plane travel based on his experiences. Some of the benefits discussed in the article include swiftness, cost-effectiveness, safety, comfort, the thrill of flying, high organization and professionalism, pushing the traveler out of their comfort zone, work and economic advantages, and cultural interchange.
Paul Goodman provides evidence for his claims in the essay by citing much research as well as his personal experience flying. For instance, he mentions that large airports need thousands of personnel to operate while talking about the advantages to the economy and jobs. He backs up this claim with information from the London Heathrow organization, which claims that more than 76, 000 people work for airlines.
