Argos' Strategies to Remain Relevant to the UK Market
Argos is a UK digital retailer that offers various products through its website, mobile apps, and stores (Argos, 2022). It is a toy retailer in the UK and a market leader in appliances, homewares, and furniture (Argos Ltd, 2019). It sells its catalogues offline and online (Zigu, 2019). The company has been experiencing some difficulties, such as significant job cuts, the axed catalogue, and the negative impacts on their profits and sales due to the new limits on disposable incomes and rising inflation. Nevertheless, the company can utilize marketing theories and adopt various strategies to stay relevant to the UK market.

It can maintain close relationships with its suppliers to enable the lowest costs, ultimately promoting low selling prices (Zigu, 2019). Consequently, it would attract a wide customer base and remain relevant in the UK market.

The company should ensure that its products are available in physical shops, over television channels, and online platforms at all times (Zigu, 2019). The company can continue its Fast Track delivery service strategy. It would ensure home delivery in less time and seven days a week (Argos, 2022). Excellent promotional strategies can help Argos stay relevant in the UK market. The promotional strategies ensure that consumers are aware of its products and offerings (McCabe, 2019). The company can continue with its direct advertising, advertising campaigns, word of mouth, and published ads through social media engagement, online banners, and print media (Zigu, 2019). It can also adopt other promotional strategies, such as digital marketing like email marketing, video marketing, and search engine optimization, to enhance customer satisfaction. It should continue with tactical advertising to provide product-relevant ads while considering people's locations and searchers (WARC, 2017).
Despite the negative impact of axing some of its employees, the company can train its remaining employees to stay updated with new upcoming varieties and multiple product ranges to remain relevant to the UK market. The people or employees should work on market research to be well-versed in consumers' needs and to offer quality products (Zigu, 2019).
