In this proposal, analysis of Teapot and Cover, a stoneware art from China, is proposed. The art has a smooth surface, with a good design shape that resembles that of a metal teapot used in the modern century. It has a golden color with a curved handle and a cylindrical cover. The object is made from stone and has a nozzle perfectly situated in the opposite of the handle (ROM Online Collection). The art is believed to have been common in the period ca.1867 – 1923 AD. From a distance, the object attracts the eye with its shiny surface. It is an important art that tells the viewers of the Chinese mastery of pottery in the past centuries. It is, however, amazing how a potter would make the surface of clay object to shine like an object made from porcelain or glass.

Teapot and Cover are situated in Yixing Zian, Jiangsu Province, China. It has a dimension of 6.8 x 18.3 x 13.4 centimeters (ROM Online Collection). According to the history behind it, it is believed to have existed in the Qing Dynasty-Republic. The object, therefore, marked the last period when China was ruled by a dynasty. The Great Qing was a dynasty that ruled China from the early 17th century to the onset of the 20th century in the year 1911. The art, therefore, reminds the Chinese of the last dynasty rule of their lives, and a period when China was ruled for the second time by a leader who did not originate from the Han people. The final research paper, will, therefore, stress more on the Qing Dynasty-Republic and how the Chinese held dearly the art of pottery as an economic activity and cultural practice. In the same research article, the improvements in Chinese culture will be assessed.
