I watched a concert hosted by National Public Radio and performed by Chronixx and his band Zincfence Redemption. The band consists of seven members: Jamar McNaughton "Chronixx" (vocals), Stephen Coore (guitar); Hector Lewis (percussion); Evan Mason (keys); Oliver Thompson (drums); Adrian Henry (bass); and N'Namdi Robinson (guitar) (NPR Music, 2017). They are a Reggae band from Jamaica, which is the origin of reggae music. The concert was exciting for me because I had never opened up to this music genre. At first, I was skeptical, but I enjoyed their outstanding performance.
The concert entailed singing and dancing accompanied by steel drums and chimes. The band members certainly played in an exclusive style. They performed three different songs, all composed by Chronixx. The first song performed was "Skankin' Sweet," followed by "Majesty" and "Spanish Town Rocking."All the pieces were from Chronixx's sophomore album, Chronology. The most exciting and entertaining for me was when the band performed "Spanish Town Rocking." There is no doubt that this song stole the show. I could not stop playing it again and again. The rhythm, the tempo, and the flow of the music were entertaining. This song gave the audience an idea of where the band members come from.
