Art in Your Community Student’s Name Institution Course Date ART IN YOUR COMMUNITY Each Artwork or Art performance has its own story. Last month I visited an art museum in New York during an art exhibition. A lot of things like paintings, textiles, costumes, pastels, artist books, photographs, drawings, furniture, sculptures, and decorative arts were displayed. Additionally, there were performance arts, poetry readings, and music concerts. One of the interesting performances that were thrilling during the exhibition was the one innovative multimedia environment when Leonard Cohen’s songs were covered and performed. There was also a survey of his archival materials in the drawing, writings, and recording that he had produced over the past half-century. The poem started with a prologue that contained the entire theme musically and poetically. In this poem, Cohen used glass to establish a music figure that is not true but it is a two-note alternating theme. The opening of this poem suggested a lifelong journey and one of the important aspects that were established in this poem was the female gender. Leonard used the vocal tone to trigger anger, joy, and pain in his songs. One if his best song was also performed. Hallelujah was one of his best songs that had morphed a mournful tone but the song has inspired over 300 versions today. The artist also used a combination of melody, rhythm, lyrics, and harmony that come together to form a fusion of inspiration and perspiration. Leonard is one of the greatest songwriters. The song Hallelujah started with a simple questioning of the m...
