A popular bank in Hong Kong is the Hang Seng Bank Limited, a member of the HSBC Group. It is leading bank in Hong Kong providing banking and financial services. The bank’s operations are mainly in four major segments i.e. the retail banking and wealth management segment, the global banking and markets segment, the commercial banking segment and other segment (Company Profile, 2019). HSBC Group, one of the world’s largest financial services provider, holds 62.14 percent equity interest at Hang Seng Bank.
Some of the services provided under the retail banking and wealth management segment include personal banking, consumer lending and wealth management on behalf of the clients. Personal banking services include credit cards, wealth management, personal loans and mortgages, insurance, savings and current accounts. Commercial banking segment, on the other hand, offers products and services tailored to their corporate, commercial and SME clientele (Company Profile, 2019).They include investment services, corporate wealth management, corporate lending, payment and cash management, treasury and forex services and insurance.
Hang Seng Bank Limited is leading in terms of market capitalization of HK$250.05 (Hong Kong) billion (Company Profile, 2019). The market capitalization as 30th June 2018 stood at HK$375.1 billion representing an upward trajectory. Hang Seng Bank Limited was founded in 1933 in Hong Kong and has grown to be one of the major banks. Presently, the bank has a network of around 270 outlets throughout Hong Kong. The bank offers its products and services together with its subsidiaries. Hang Seng Bank (China) Limited, for instance, is a wholly owned subsidiary. The subsidiary was established in 2007 and operates in mainland China with multiple outlets in various parts of the country (Hangseng.com, Bank Profile).
Hang Seng Bank Limited also has operations in Macau and Singapore where it has branches as well as a representative office in Taipei. Another subsidiary is the Hang Seng securities. It is also a wholly owned subsidiary that operates security advisory services as a joint venture together with GZHS Research Co., Ltd in partnership with Guangzhou Securities Company in Guangdong province (Hangseng.com, Bank Profile).Together with Shenzhen Qianhai Financial Holdings Company Limited, Hang Seng Bank established Hang Seng Qianhai Fund Management Company Limited, a fund management company.  
Hang Seng Bank recorded a half year profit of HK$ 12.647 billion by 30th June 2018, a 29 percent increase in the interim profit (Tencent and Hang Seng Bank form fintech partnership, 2018). The profit is compared HK $9.838 billion the same time 30th June 2017 and HK$10.180 billion by 31st December 2017 (Hang Seng at a Glance, 2018).
