International Security Studies: Covid-19 Pandemic and Climate Change

• QUESTION A: Drawing on pertinent assigned readings, assess the outbreaks from a national security perspective. Engage particularly with Jentleson’s argument that pandemic and environmental mass destruction are greater national security threats to the US than the traditional issue of Great Power competition.
• QUESTION B: In what way(s) is the environment a security problem? How well does the American approach to strategy help us to address the problem of environmental security? How are environmental problems influencing life (and international politics) in Southeast Asia?
