Why Are Evil and Human Sinfulness in the World?

Instructions:

2. Review the biblical passages assigned in this week’s reading (especially Genesis 3-4 and Romans 1:18-32) - Week 4 Readings on Sin.
3. Your reading may be facilitated by using the website, Bible Gateway.
Access the website and locate the “Search” box (the translation is already set to the New International Version). Enter the book, chapter, and verse numbers to read the passage.
4. In addition, a collateral source of organized biblical materials is found at the online edition of the Dictionary of Bible Themes at Bible Gateway.
5. Navigate to the threaded discussion and post in at least four full paragraphs (three for “a,” one for “b”) new insights gleaned from the reading (with your quotation of the scriptures that support such insights):
a) Describe three reasons why sin is present in the world today as seen in the assigned passages. Support each characteristic with at least one quotation from scripture.
b) How might sin affect primary human relationships: with God, with other persons, with the environment [“the ground”], and with oneself?
