Is the US entering a new Gilded Age History Coursework

Coursework Instructions:

Many people have said history tends to repeat itself. Others have said that we learn from the mistakes of the past. After reading the chapter and the articles on the Gilded Age about moral inequality and wealth, write a journal and answer the questions:
Is the US currently entering a new Gilded Age? Is wealth inequality something Americans should be concerned about or is this a natural part of the American economic system? Is there anything the government could or should do about the economic situation? Should the wealth gap be treated as a moral issue or not?
This assignment should contain your reactions or questions about some specific issue which you find compelling. For full credit, your paper must not simply sum up the reading or repeat points made there. Rather, I’m looking for you to answer the questions, explain the emotional content of the piece, and add or discuss some original insight.
(This is a journal so it just has to be understandable)
