Social Justice Orientation
Social workers have an immense passion for serving others, directing their desire to advocate for those vulnerable in society. Nevertheless, to better serve the community, professionals need to develop social justice advocacy and counseling skills to address common issues such as oppression, discrimination, and other challenges among marginalized social groups. Simply being or having thoughts of being a counselor and entering the field represents a social justice orientation to a helping profession. These issues relate to my profession as a healthcare social worker, and my personal life, including the interviews and activities in my community.
