The outcome of interest for the upcoming team memo is to identify effective interventions to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities in low and low-middle-income countries (LMICs). Specifically, this memo would like to focus on increasing access and improving healthcare quality for smokers and pregnant women with preeclampsia for stroke in Indonesia.

The two vulnerable groups that our team has selected to focus on for the team memo are smokers and pregnant women with preeclampsia for stroke in Indonesia.
3 Provide one intervention that you will contribute to the team memo.
A possible intervention is the provision of iron-folic acid (IFA) supplements to pregnant women to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia (Paudyal, et al).
4 Which leverage point will your selected intervention be linked to, and why?
The selected intervention of providing IFA supplements to pregnant women is linked to the leverage point of improving maternal health and nutrition, which is crucial for reducing maternal mortality, improving birth outcomes, and promoting child development (Oh 23). This intervention is also supported by evidence from randomized controlled trials in LMICs showing significant reductions in maternal anemia and low birth weight when IFA supplements are provided to pregnant women (Paudyal et al. 9).
