1. The differences between traditional leadership and today’s new global leadership
Traditional leadership is more straightforward, with a lot more stability in the world as opposed to the contemporary era where there are rapid changes in the dynamics that affect leadership. With global leadership, there are a myriad of uncertainties as well as unclear trend lines that are contrary to the traditional leadership, where some trends were easy to anticipate. Traditional leaders had a higher likelihood of working with people of the same generation. In contrast, global leaders of the contemporary era are more likely to work with multiple generations and people from diverse cultures, values, interests, and expectations, which may lead to conflicts. The traditional and new global leadership also differ significantly in demand for skillsets. With traditional leadership, the skillset required to carry out their leadership roles was minimal because it was more of management than leading. With the new global leadership, the demand for emerging leadership skills that both guide and inspire the subordinates is immense.

Population growth is certainly a major trend and a concern for the global corporation because it signifies a radical change in the workforce, the consumer markets, and their demands. For example, in developing countries like Mali, Niger, and Yemen, the populations are youngest, signifying population increase into the future. In this case, a global corporation should devise plans to address challenges brought about by the population growth in developing countries. Global companies can deal with this trend by targeting their operations in developing countries. A global company can set up manufacturing plants and stores in developing countries to access labor as well as the market in such countries. ...
