This project is aimed at identifying why Africa is a homophobic continent. Homosexuality in Africa is viewed as an unorthodox practice. Some nations even go as far as imprisoning and exiling citizens found guilty of homosexuality. So this begs the question of whether homosexual rights exist at all in Africa. Some African nations such as South Africa and Kenya have decided to turn a blind eye to homosexuality. Homosexuals in these countries openly practice homosexuality though the concept has not been openly accepted by the national. It is, therefore, true to say Africa is a homophobic continent. This project is aimed at examining what rules apply to homosexuals in Africa. They are citizens, after all. I believe that some African nations have put in place rights to protect and adopt homosexuality. This paper also aims to establish the power of politics and religion in administering rights to homosexuals in Africa.

In order to understand what undermines the rights of homosexuals in Africa, I plan to employ methods that point to the root of homophobia in Africa.
In my study, I will use applied research such as questionnaires, interviews(online) with lawmakers and homosexuals, articles and journals on current affairs regarding homosexuality, and case studies of afflicted homosexuals.
These methods will provide me with a better understanding of the situation on the ground.
Some of the questions I plan on asking are what their family and friends think about their lifestyle choice?
Where do they feel that they are free to express themselves without fear or be judgemental?
To the lawmakers, what is holding back the constitution of homosexuality rights in Africa?

A list of African homosexuals that can be interviewed will be made.
A focus will be made on their experiences.
Finding rescue centres and association offices to use as a source for good interviewees.
Finding reliable writings by or about homosexuals in Africa.
