In order to fully answer this question, it is important to understand the meaning of the hype cycle. It is a system that was created to illustrate the dynamism of technology over time. The start of the hype cycle is the Technology trigger as well as an item that can attract public attention. Inflated Expectation is the next stage, which is then followed by Trough of Disinvestment and then summed up finally by Slope of Enlightenment. From a personal perspective, robotics, social media, and gene editing (CRISPR) are in the Inflation Expectation phase. Robotics, for example, is a new thing and is not so common in several countries around the world (Govers, 2018). However, it is there to replace so many others with its placement in the hype cycle.
