Then, select two of your classmates' research questions and review them (in an approximately 300 word threaded reply). Address the strengths and weaknesses of your classmates’ questions and the types of sources your classmates have described.

To assist you in the development of your Research Questions (RQ) I have listed below some that have been approved in previous classes. Working Titles flow from the RQ so I've included those as well (you will develop your Working Title in week 3). Notice that the RQs are clear and focused.  

Notice, too, that the research question does not have parts! No moving parts! 

The RQ should be narrow enough to answer thoroughly within the constraints of a 25-40 page paper. You can also read through a list of sample RQs posted on Scribrr.com that I will link to below.1 Each one has been evaluated with some of the same criteria presented in The Craft of Research.2 The topics are not what professionals in the DoD are likely to select. However, they do provide clear examples that will help you vet your own and your classmates' RQs.

Cruz, To find out if minorities and women are making rank at the same rate as white males or how can the USAF better groom minorities and women to also reach these senior ranks (O-6 and above)?
Strengths
The research question is focused on the topic of diversity and inclusion among the USAF’s higher-ranking officers. Its narrow/specific focus ensures that everything ties up to the main issue, which is a lack of diversity in making ranks. Cruz asks several questions which are all tied to this central issue. The research question is also researchable, as evidenced by the credible sources he uses to answer the question. The question is also relevant, especially because we live at a time where diversity at levels of the workplace is valued (McCombes, “Writing Strong Research Questions,” 2023).
Weakness
It is difficult to identify the research question from all the questions asked. The topic of Cruz's research is clear, but the research question is not. One has to sift through his observations and supporting literature to identify the research question. Maybe he can provide clarity on his research question by explicitly stating it. For example,...
