One thorny disciplinary issue is the lack of respect for seniors. The language and behavior under the circumstances at play indicated indiscipline. The Military expects personnel to respect each other, especially in the chain of command (Sedoc-Dahlberg, 2021). Article 89 of the military law stipulates circumstances considered unlawful concerning a commissioned officer (Dotlichet al., 2011). For instance, misconduct and disrespectful engagement with the latter should result in punishment.
On that note, putting myself in the commander's situation, I would pursue a course of action stipulated under Article 89. The latter suggests that an officer with the aforementioned disciplinary issue is subject to discharge and forfeiture of allowances and salary (Sedoc-Dahlberg, 2021).
