Jake McCarty is currently the Chief Operations Officer at San Joaquin General Hospital, originally established in 1857. This is a general acute care facility in California providing a full range of inpatient services including General Medical/Surgical Care, High-Risk Obstetrics and Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics, and Intensive Care. In addition to the 196-bed hospital, the medical campus includes multiple facilities dedicated to comprehensive outpatient services including Primary Care and Specialty Clinics and more. They have 775 employees and an annual budget of almost $300M per year. Jake has extensive experience in organizational leadership, project management, and healthcare and hospital administration. In 2013, Jake completed his Administrative Residency at Fortune 500 Kindred Healthcare's flagship hospital in Southern California, in which he was one of four candidates selected nationally for the prestigious Hospital Division Residency Program. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis and he obtained his first masters degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Services Administration from USC. More recently he obtained a second masters degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, where he first met Dr. Gershon in her public health disaster course at UC Berkeley. Currently, Jacob is also a Lecturer of Health Administration at NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
