What's My Salary. Mathematics & Economics Coursework
Overview
You will be completing a project that asks you to solve a real world problem by using mathematical thinking and problem solving skills to determine the appropriate pathway to solve the the problem posed. There are multiple ways to solve each project. Some approaches involve the math you will be learning in this course; others do not. The math involved in all these projects is at or below the level of this course. The Course Project is due at 11:59 PM MT Sunday end of Week 7.
Description
Click each link under the Projects heading below to download and review the project files.
Choose one of the projects to work on during this course. Possible projects include exploring the path of a submarine, creating a blog or website that demonstrates how to solve math problems, determining amount of prize money to be won and more. You will want to explore all the choices before arriving at the one you want to complete. Once you have chosen your project, you will find a solution to the mathematical issue and answer all questions asked in the appropriate submission format. Potential submission formats include a business letter, narrated PowerPoints, a blog, and more. Whatever format you choose, be sure your instructor can open/view it.

WHAT IS MY SALARY
In determining the salary the following formula will be used;
Level 1 employees
The beginning salary of employees that is the first salary of the employees is $15000
Let the relevant year be x therefore x=1
Let y replace the salary then y=mx+b
b = y intercept
15000=m (1) +b 1m+b=15000
Salary in the third year3m+b= 19000
Therefore-2m= -4000
2000+ b =15000, thus b=13000 and mathematics model y=2000x+13000
Level 2 employees
Salary starts at 30000 and in the third year it is 36000
Similarly30000= 1m +b m=3000, b-30000-3000=27000
36000= 3m+b
-6000= -2m
Rate of income = $3000 per year
Mathematics model = y= 3000x +27000
Level 3 employees
