Management Action Plan
Function of Management: Planning
What type of planning activities will you need to use as a manager?
The planning activities a manager might use are action plans to carry out goals and objectives set by the organization. These could include goal setting, action program development, project planning, schedule development, and budgeting. A manager should also develop programs to determine priorities for addressing problems. They should also develop a time chart of the plan with milestones to be achieved. A resource allocation plan is necessary for determining staff levels needed in carrying out the action plan (Krutyakova & Anyushenkova, 2018). These activities are important in planning because they help the manager know what they need to do first, how much time it will take to get the job done, how much it will cost and who will work on the project. Review planning activities from the textbook. What planning process would you use as a manager?
The ideal planning process would begin with goal setting. Goal setting is the process of establishing goals and objectives for the organization. This program would be used in conjunction with the planning of projects, schedules, and budgets to carry out the goal-setting. Action programs consist of a statement of what must be done with specific detail required describing exactly how the task would be accomplished. Action programs would aid in monitoring the status of projects to ensure accomplishments meet projected completion dates specified by management. Action plans provide timelines for different aspects of a project or job assignment to help managers organize their time for effectively carrying out a scheduled project or job assignment.
Function of Management: Organizing
How will you use organizing as a manager?
As a manager, one would use organizing by prioritizing, organizing by scheduling, and organizing by delegating. Prioritizing focuses on the most important issues to address and when one should address them. Prioritizing allows for all tasks to be completed promptly and for managers to ensure nothing is being left out or overlooked (Krutyakova & Anyushenkova, 2018). Prioritizing also allows managers to make sure all projects are being completed uniformly. Organization by scheduling shows which tasks should be completed first and in what order they should be completed. Organizational delegation involves assigning specific roles or responsibilities to each person involved in the project or task. The management functions of organizing are all important parts of completing projects and tasks and managing an organizatio...
