Entrepreneurs are responsible for all decisions in the workplace, which can also conflict with personal ethics and instincts. When making such decisions, my first point of reference is the code of ethics which determines how I would frame the issues and respond accordingly. The code of ethics acts as a guideline that supports personal decisions. It ensures the decisions are made with authority (Sharokhina, & Shevchenko, 2021). I also try to understand the issues that I am facing and positioning myself as a leader to make the best decisions. I often stick to my fundamental values, which are the basis of all my decisions. Jerry Colangelo (1999) points out that when making decisions, "stick to your beliefs, your fundamental values, to see you through and help you maintain an even, ethical foundation" (Colangelo & Sherman, 1999. p 62). I always stick to what I believe in, which I am sure aligns with the organizational culture. Since the issues or conflicts in the organization are unique, this requires sticking to what you think is the right decision since it gives value to the choice made, whether right or wrong.
