Weekly Research Blog
Write a research blog that reflections on each week's readings, topics, and discussions. These should be entries of between 200-400 words.
These should be critical and thoughtful. Try to avoid writing "I liked this week because it was interesting" and try instead to write "The readings on interviewing from this week were interesting because they got me thinking about the ethics of interviews in terms of X, Y, and Z" - or whatever is appropriate to that week. We are looking for you to think and reflect in a critical and scholarly manner on the material presented each week, and what it means for designing and conducting academic-standard research. You should cite any references in the blogs appropriately.
Write up in your researchblog with reference to this week’s readings:
(Crotty) What methods does the study use? What methodology governs their choice of methods? What theoretical perspective lies behind the methodology? What epistemology informs this theoretical perspective?
(Orgad) What mix of online and offline research will you use? How do online and offline research methods relate in your study? How will the choice of online and offline data affect your sample?
(Markham): What are sensible boundaries to construct around the field or topic of study? What constitutes data? How do you conceptualise digital technology? What terms will you use to define your main objects of research? What difference will your research make?

Reflecting on the learnings from the readings, I have discovered that these assisted me in understanding why scientific investigation exists and why this should be done correctly.
Crotty (1998) discussed methodologies, how to construct these, and how these work. The steps in forming a methodology entail using theoretical perspectives that guide the researcher in forming a sound strategy. This week enlightened me on the importance of reading and proper examination of the review of the literature to form a strategic methodology that caters to the objectives of the study. This week helped in choosing the proper methods for the specific knowledge and type of investigation. This is critical in constructing research because compatibility between variables must be investigated before designing the me...
