Practicing Point of View
Using a scene from a short fiction story, choose two different points of view to describe this scene. For example, you might use a first person narrator and a limited third person narrator to describe a family picnic being invaded by ants, using first the voice of the grandmother and then the consciousness of the teenage son. Be sure to use each point of view consistently throughout each scene.
Create a brief description of the scene you'll be writing, for example, "The Family Picnic." Beneath this type the first point of view you'll be using, followed by the scene itself. Next, type the second point of view selected, followed by the same scene, but from a different point of view. Limit your scenes to about 250 words each.

The Invisible Robe
First Person Pont of View
My brothers and I are in the spinning room, pretending to weave invisible cloth into a silk robe that is fit for high-class and royalty only when I hear a loud knock on the door. My brother unlocks the door and the king’s servant enters looking skeptically at the surroundings of the room, then at the six of us inside with him. The servant announces that the king is asking about the current status of his royal silk robe, and I looked at my eldest brother to see his reaction. He says that “Making such royal and beautiful golden robe with intricately woven copper and diamonds cannot be rushed! Tell the king we are still making adjustments to fit his royalty, but he will surely be able to wear the robe on his royal parade on the fortnight.” Then I hear my other brother suddenly say “As for the time being, make sure that the promised gold will be ready by then.”
Today is the day of the parade and my brother had already received our payment which are gold bars, livestock, and a carriage for each one of us. Somehow, I feel curious about the king and how he will parade the invisible robe that we made for him, so I stayed hiding among the crowds of people who are waiting for the king.
