The features of the situation that make collective action unlikely are that the military government was willing to use its authority and influence to deter the mothers from protesting about their children. For instance, some of the prominent leaders of the protests were arrested or kidnapped by the government to discourage the protesters from taking part in activism. Collective action was also hampered since most of the women lived in rural areas. The activists also tried to devise various ways to avoid being arrested.
(b)
The features of the situation that lead to an increase in the mothers’ revolutionary thresholds arise from the events that occurred in the country. For instance, the World Cup was an excellent opportunity for women to increase awareness about the issue, and sports personalities also supported them. Despite discussions between the regime and women, the mothers gathered at Plaza de Mayo for their weekly protests to demand justice.

The factor that influences the severity of the collective action problem is the number of protestors. A few protestors make it hard to achieve collection action. However, a larger number of participants means that more people are involved. The best way to solve this issue is by encouraging more people to participate in collective action. This means that participants need to have common needs. In the current case, the participants are united due to their gender and experiences.

In authoritarianism, the rule is often enforced by multiple leaders, while in totalitarianism, the rule is executed by one leader. In totalitarianism, there exists only a single party, while in authoritarianism, multiple-party politics is the case.

In the game above, both firms 1 and 2 have a dominant strategy. Regardless of the competitor’s wishes, both players can improve their outcome through advertising. If firm 1 does not advertise, 2 will gain a profit of 4,3 if it chooses to use an advertisement. If firm 1 decides to advertise, then firm 2 will gain a profit of 3.4 by choosing to advertise.
(d)
The payoffs are similar, given both alternatives. In the current came, the Nash equilibrium is advertise/advertise since both firms have an influential factor that determines their strategy. If both firms agree to advertise, they will get 5.5.
