Part 1
Water is the most basic yet popular and readily available element with anomalous properties to sustain life. Water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen elements. Its primary function is maintaining average body temperature, protecting the body's spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, bowel movement, and perspiration, and removing excess body waste through excretion, sweating, and urination. Further, water lubricates and cushions joints making movement easier (Saladin,2020). Further, the body needs excess water during vigorous exercise, in hot climates, or when having diarrhea or vomiting. Thus, according to CDC, individuals should consume water in food or drink it to make the body healthy (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2022a). Further, to avoid some health calamities such as kidney stones, individuals should make a point to consume a lot of water, whether from drinks or food. Therefore, water is an essential element each individual should take responsibility for consuming to remain healthy.
Additionally, water is a significant component of human life. According to the US government geological survey, an adult male body comprises 60% water, while that of a female is 55% (United States Geological Survey, 2022). This means that our body depends on water for survival, and its availability in any given community is essential. Notably, water from the body can be accessed through drinking and from the foods eaten.
