Health disparities are remarkably evident in U.S.different U.S communities are disproportionately affected by diseases. Besides, the quality and accessibility of care is marked by widening disparities. The minority and marginalized communities are the greatest exposed to health disparities and inequities. One such ethnic community is Haitian American group which this paper will focus on.
Haitian Americans are Americans tracing their roots to Haiti. Most Haitian Americans live South Florida area and U.S cities including New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C.  , among many more! American Haitian community has centers of interests and concerns regarding healthcare. Persons of Haitian descent in the U.s grapple with economic, linguistic, and cultural impediments that downplay their integration into American society, thereby, affecting their health care access, health care utilization, and health outcomes. More often, Haitian Americans are frequently are perceived as African-American,therby,this tends to hide their the cultural, behavioral, and environmental diversity and identity .Thus, issues of interest surrounding Haitian American community such as diet, religion, migration experiences, education, language, and health beliefs and practices, gets blurred.
