The high costs of training recruits to replace the quitting or resigning nurses impede the healthcare sector from addressing the issue of the nursing shortage and high turnover rates. Increasing the nursing retention rate serves as a viable solution to curbing the adverse effects of understaffing in the healthcare system. Effective leadership and management approaches play a significant role in enhancing the nursing work environment and thus ensuring a higher retention rate of nurses in the healthcare system as a whole.
