My health insurance plan is Care First/BlueChoice, Inc. (PPO), which provides a relative degree of flexibility in accessibility of care. Care can be accessed from a PPO network comprising over 47,000 health care providers both locally and nationally. However, the costs are generally higher if I see a doctor who is not a party to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan. I am very satisfied with my insurance plan because it provides me with a broad range of services to choose from. The extensive network of health care providers and institutions means that patients are empowered in regards to which hospital or professional to receive care from at no extra cost (Weatherspoon, 2021). Besides, I do not need a referral to see a health care specialist. Patients with a PPO plan can see any personnel within the provider network without spending time or money setting appointments for specialized care.
