Florence Nightingale was born in Italy. She was a well-known British nurse with nursing experience and opened a training school for Nurses. In the early 1800s, Nightingale established the principles of environmental design and sanitation that are still practiced in nursing today. Nightingale's theories on spirituality and healthcare were also ahead of her time, as she emphasized the importance of the mind-body connection in healing (Riegel et al, 2021).
