Congenital torticollis comprises of a third of all congenital muscular abnormalities. This condition involves the sternocleidomastoid muscles (SCM) and is common following birth and a few weeks after birth. The SCM represents thick muscles of the neck that serve as a primary neck landmark during extraoral examinations (Fehrenbach & Herring, 2009). Physiotherapy is known to play a critical role in correcting the dysfunction or quickening the recovery from the condition after surgical operation. Physiotherapy is employed to not only resolve the SCM problem to torticollis presence but also due to surgical interventions on the SCM.
