Communicable and infectious diseases pose a great risk to patients due to their ability to induce changes in their bodies that suppress their immunity. Such imbalances that affect the relationship between the individual and the environment can be fatal to the human host if the infectious agent overpowers the immune system (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2019). Therefore, a multisystem control approach is effective against such infectious agents by considering the various factors in the environment that could disrupt the host-agent relationship to create a balance.
With regard to improving host resistance, the strategy of increasing the rate of immunization in the population can act as a mode of protecting individuals and reducing the spread of infectious agents.
