In this teaching strategy, learners are asked to research terms or are assigned some activity which later on helps them get more focused and involved in class environment.

The affective learning domain is “Responding.”
This addresses the cognitive side of students. When they are required to know something about the topic beforehand, when being discussed in the class, they have available stock knowledge.

This makes students more engaged and attentive in class. Because they have stock knowledge gained before the actual lesson, they can follow the flow of discussion in a better way.

This teaching strategy is more effective for students who have more self-management and self-motivation. It is up to the teacher to produce the necessary drive to inspire the students in learning valuable information.

In the modern world, smartphones offer an instantaneous avenue for connecting with knowledge. The internet can be utilized to engage students to search related literature and essential information.

These pre-class assignments are open to diverse topics that are global. Medical topics are mostly general and are experienced in different areas of the world. This can help learners access information that is relevant to culturally diverse topics.

Roleplay
is an interactive and fun way of engaging the class. It assigns roles to learners, which they are required to impersonate in regards to the situation.

The affective learning domain is Characterization Learners think and cognize of situations, use their movements and verbal language to express their actions and thoughts, and relate with each other in human ways. In a way, they learn from each other and learn things about themselves.

These types of activities are fun for students because they have the opportunity to play a role and watch their classmates do the same. The feeling of being engaged and part of a group inspires attention and learning.

Some students are visual and auditory learners. This activity stimulates both. The learners get educated by listening and watching other groups perform; other students enjoy public speaking. Students, when challenged, learn when they are tasked to perform.

By doing role play, societal beliefs and customs are reinforced. Learners are able to express different roles and feel like there are the real actors of those roles.
