The patient is a 46-year-old woman who is slightly overweight and at the risk of getting breast cancer because of her family history. She has hypertension and also presents signs of genitourinary symptoms, although she has regular menstrual cycles. Her last menstruation period was within a month, indicating a healthy body response. Further, she is consistent with her check-ups since she regularly visits various clinicians for medical attention. The client goes for her yearly mammograms, presents herself to her gynecologist, checks her BP, and conducts Pap smear rests. She also complains about severe sweats and night sweats. Currently, she uses Norvasc 10mg qd and HCTZ 25mg qd, but her blood pressure is still 150/90. The BP is not critical as the reading seems to be maintained by the home medications prescribed. Thus, it is essential to recommend a specific treatment regimen and provide a patient education strategy to improve the health of the client.
Treatment Recommendation
Generally, the patient is consistent with her treatment, and she has successfully managed to evade disastrous outcomes. HTN is a primary cause of other physiological complications such as heart diseases. I recommend that the client should continue with her home medications while constantly presenting herself for examination. Also, the client needs to have a consistent time to take her medication daily. Early in the morning and late in the evening are the best period to take medicine. These times are highly recommended since a person is more likely to remember than in the middle of their busy daily schedules. Lastly, a consistent medication time helps to improve the effectiveness of the medication.
