To examine personnel's perspective about the problems with the care of obese patients in surgical wards and operation rooms of hospitals affiliated to Alborz University of Medical Sciences in 2014

The study was a cross-sectional study and used questionnaires to collect data from the participants

The study was carried out in Alborz training hospitals of the University of Medical Sciences in Iran. A sample of 200 participants was used, 75 % female and 25 % male.

Nursing care is the independent variable, while obese patients represent the dependent variable

The level of measurement of major variables was ordinal. The participants' perspectives were put on a scale of not at all, low, moderate, high, very high.

Data was analyzed using SPSS software. Chi-square test, descriptive statistics, and Fisher exact test were carried out.

The biggest challenge for the personnel is the shortage of lifters, bedsheets, and clothing.
About clinical services, the most significant challenges are patient repositioning, changing their clothes, and transferring between wards and clinics.

LOE for the study is level I because it is a quantitative study.
The study concluded that it is essential to provide necessary equipment for obese patient care and educate the staff about delivering good quality services. This is necessary due to the rising number of obese cases in hospitals, the importance of staff's health, and their dedication to providing quality healthcare services.
One limitation of the study is that nurses (participants) had less time to answer the questions provided. As such, some questions were not answered while others were responded to during different shifts.
There were no strengths or recommendations highlighted.
Therefore, the study has strong evidence and it is worth to practice.
