When dealing with “twice exceptional” students, teachers should consider that; the kids need tremendous support. 2e students are gifted in various ways. Nevertheless, they struggle with low self-esteem, poor social skills, and an inability to concentrate and complete their classwork. Thus, they need a supportive class culture that models effective learning and is accommodating. Two, focusing on their strengths ensures their learning and emotional happiness. While 2e kids’ gifts are expansive, their disabilities often overshadow them. Prioritizing their strengths reduces their tension, boosts confidence, and increases social interactions and learning outcomes, hence growth in learning. Another factor is that a 2e student can be gifted and lack basic skills (Foley-Nicpon, Assouline & Colangelo, 2013, pp. 175-176).
