I would like to be a member of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). In particular, the organization focuses on meeting the needs of children who are gifted in various aspects. NAGC empowers and supports young people with advanced abilities through professional learning inspiring advocacy, and impactful research (National Association for Gifted Children, n.d.). Indeed, it would be beneficial to join NAGC so that one can foster learning for gifted children by helping them navigate the education journey.
When it comes to mathematics content area, I would like to join the American Mathematical Society (AMS). Notably, AMS fosters mathematics research, scholarships, and awareness. In addition, it is dedicated to advancing mathematics through advocacy, conferences, publications, and awareness programs (American Mathematical Society, 2023).
