This discussion post is based on Cripe’s (2017) research which explored perceptions of women concerning integrating breastfeeding and working and the factors related to support communication by peers and leaders that impact their success at integrating these quests. The study employed a qualitative communication research method. The author interviewed mothers participating in breastfeeding support groups to collect their views and perspectives concerning factors that undermined their capacity to integrate working and breastfeeding (Cripe, 2017). It is a qualitative study because the collected data include human perception and experiences and cannot be evaluated using mathematical approaches (Ridzuan et al., 2018). In this study, Cripe formulated research questions to guide the interview, thus understanding the pertinent issues related to the research aim.
