Global, Urban, and Environmental Studies: Analysis of Two Cases
Part A: Cases Descriptions
1st case: Untreated Sewage Discharged From Jinlong Industrial Park of Hengshan County, Hunan, China
Hungshan is a country situated in Hunan Province in China and it is administered by the prefecture-level city of Hengyang. The development zone of Hengshan High-Tech sector also known as “Hengshan Economic Development Zone” was established in 2004. The area has rapidly developed to an industrial park, engaging in the production of clothes, textiles, copper, gear, paper, and wood. However, the environmental authorities identified that the plastic and paper factories in the industry polluted the environment by discharging large amounts of industrial sewage.

Besides, in the second post-colonial case, the government of Sudan should stop leasing land to foreign investors, because it endangers the community of Nubians in the country who are denied land to engage in pastoralism and build their shelters.
