Sources Credibility on the Topic "Do Cigarettes Cause Lung Cancer?"
As discussed in the reading, credible sources can be evaluated by looking at three areas; authorship, sponsorship and recency. Below you will find two different supporting comments from a persuasive speech on the topic - "do cigarettes cause lung cancer." The comment supports the topic as it provides one of the views regarding smoking causing lung cancer. However, the comment is not from a credible source based on the credentials of the speaker. Mike Pence is a politician and not a health specialist or expert in smoking and lung cancer, so he has no credibility on these issues. His lack of knowledge in matters relating to the topic makes his comment lack credibility. Even though the comment is not credible, it could find credible sources related to the topic.
