Write a concept statement for a campaign for the organization you created. It should include:
The goal of the PSA (3 points)
What are you trying to accomplish with this PSA? After watching your PSA, your audience should be inspired and knowledgeable enough to take action. What is that action you want the audience to take? Or what’s the call to action?
The name of the organization (2 points)
Create your own “organization”. You can pattern your “organization” after a real one but be sure a viewer would not think yours is the real thing.
The audience of the PSA (5 points)
Who are you hoping to reach through your PSA?
You want to be able to tailor the message of your PSA to the specific abilities and resources available to the audience you’re targeting.
Research summary: You must do some research (10 points)
What is the problem? Why do you need to create this PSA? Why do your audience need to watch this PSA? Provide the most current and up-to-date facts on your topic so your PSA can be convincing and accurate.
Is the message of your PSA important and relevant? Why? How so?
Story description. Please describe the following components of the story you want to tell in your PSA. (20 points)
Characters
Beginning. Make sure to describe the inciting incident and the new desire created by the inciting incident. The inciting incident is an event that happens to the protagonist in the beginning.
Middle. Make sure to describe a conflict which is a problem, obstacle, difficulty that is getting in the way of the protagonist achieving what he or she wants.
End. Make sure to include climax. What will the protagonist do or not do at the end to get what she wants? This is the last chance. Also, include how the conflict gets resolved.

This is very important: Your PSA MUST tell a story in classic story form. Many PSAs do not tell stories, but often the BEST ones do. This is a storytelling class, so your PSA must tell a story, not just be a PSA.

Be sure to propose ONLY ideas you can actually produce. PSAs that require car crashes, burning buildings, etc., probably aren’t within your budget! If you need certain locations like churches and businesses, be sure you can get access. If you need policemen or firemen or priests, costume stores will rent you props. Your actors must be age appropriate.
