The use of personal information taken from social media as part of the hiring process is both legal and ethical.
It is the responsibility of the human resource manager to disclose to the candidates that the review of social media accounts is part of the organization's policy. The company must inform the candidates before conducting interviews that social media account reviews is a critical part of the hiring process (Cooley & Parks-Yancy, 2016).
