In multiple professions, leaders might lead in one situation, but follow in another. For example, a manager might lead a specific team but still report up to a director, or a member of upper management, in a follower capacity. Consider what you read in the module resources, then consider your own past and current roles. Describe a time when you were a leader or a follower on a team in a given situation.
In your initial post, do the following:
In the subject line of your post, indicate whether you are providing an example of yourself as a leader or a follower.
Briefly describe the situation.
Indicate why you feel you were either a leader or a follower in the given situation.
Respond to at least two of your peers. If you gave an example of yourself as a follower, try to respond to someone who gave an example as a leader, and vice versa. Then, take the position of someone on the team in a leader or follower role and discuss the following:
Identify your role as either a leader or a follower.
Discuss the impact your role would have on the situation and the team.

Hello,
I am going to be describing a time when I was a follower. The situation where I was a follower was when I was working in a daycare. I worked in this daycare for 4 years where strict rules and regulations were established. So for my day-to-day duties, we had 3 people in a room and when we would come into the room, per the guidelines before any associate left the room we would need to make sure all children were accounted for in the room. Also if there was a substitute provider in the room for the day I would follow the rules and regulations and if someone did not know the children I would tell them to look in the allergic documents to make sure there were no allergies. As a person in a position of a follower, I would have to document all significant incidents that happen in the room or to the kids. Whether it was accidents that happen like falling or behavioral incidents. In the reading of the web text I had traditional management at my workplace, I saw her as a “boss” figure. She wanted to make sure the day-to-day duties ran smoothly and the rules and regulations we implemented.
The reason why I feel I was in a position of a follower is that I would go to the directors and managers that were in leading positions and give them all information that was pertinent to the classroom and they would handle the information accordingly and sometimes they would route it up to high leadership. Since I was in a follower position, because I had some good leaders, I felt comfortable in the day-to-day sometimes intensive duties of taking care of the children. I feel I was a follower because I handle the task at hand that leadership gave me in my day-to-day duties. I would make sure that I complied with the director's overall goal with the company.

A situation where I was a leader.
In the past, I have worked at a retail store and I was once given the task of leading a project team to gather and categorize customer complaints with the overall aim of helping the business improve its customer care service. In this case, I was the team leader as I was supposed to organize meetings, lead discussions, and be the liaison between the team and the management. Therefore, as the head of the group, I was a leader and not a follower.
I feel I was a leader because each member of the team looked up to me for guidance regarding how to document customer complaints. In addition, I was the person who communicated goals to the team, led in problem solving, and delegated tasks to members. For this reason, I felt I was more of a leader as opposed to a follower. However, I must say that when reporting the progress to my superiors, I felt like a follower. One thing I did as a leader was to maintain good relationships with other team members because I understand the significance of healthy working relationship to productivity as learned from Frazier (2021). I enjoyed my time as a leader and I served the group well.
