Every organization conducts research to plan and implement a business idea. The final project for this course is designed to provide the foundation for an international business plan. These activities offer flexibility for many settings related to global business enterprises. The framework may be used for planning global expansion of an existing product or service, or may be used to research a new foreign business opportunity. Each module of this course is designed to gather information for one component of an international business plan.
This is a two-part assignment. First, select one (1) country and (1) product that will be used to develop the GBP. You will complete each section of the GBP and provide a macro level abstract which doesn't exceed 5 pages and included a bibliography.
An abstract is a written summary of the work that a student completes and formally presents. The purpose of the abstract is to offer a brief summary which gives an overview of the work or project that you will be presenting. It:
Explains the value of one’s project or presentation.
Demonstrates an individual’s knowledge of the subject.
Provides additional details that the student might not have been able to cover on its oral/narrated presentation.
The abstract is similar to a brief paper. You should include an introduction that outlines or details the background of your project and the purpose. Please note, "required final class project" should not be the purpose mentioned in the abstract. Also, provide a summary of your findings based on the research you performed. Finally, draft a conclusion that outlines what is your final decision buy/make, the reason for your decision and what you learned in general. You will end with an annotated bibliography. Remember APA style is required. Your paper should use the following format:

The global business plan focuses on a fruit and vegetable exporter based in California and exposing to Mexico. There is an analysis of Mexico’s business environment and its viability in the global market. Optimizing resources is important to improve the company’s competitiveness. Risk management strategies are also essential to reduce risk and improve competitiveness. There is also an evaluation of the need to implement the global market plan, including target market planning, distribution strategy, and promotion strategy. The financial results also help to evaluate the company’s viability.
Phase 1 – Planning the Global Business Enterprise
Introduction
The company will be exporting fruits and vegetables from the US to Mexico. Both countries export to each other and specialize more in certain products. Fruits and vegetables are mainly exported from the western and southern states of the US. California is one of the major domestic and exporting states in the US, and the company will be based in California. 
Analyzing International Competitors
Fresh Del Monte Produce, Inc., Dole Food Company, Nestle S.A., IncSunkist Growers, Inc., and Chiquita Brands International are among the biggest producers of fresh fruits and vegetables in the U.S. (Grand View Research, 2018).
Assessing the Economic-Geographic Environment
Mexico’s climate, including the tropics, makes it easier to grow various fruits and vegetables, but there is a greater reliance on traditional farming methods than in the US.Mexico is a developing market economy, and the country shares a border with the US, making it easier to export to other parts of North America. The chain is also integrated with the US, Canada, and Mexico being a free trade area. Weather, location, and regional economic development all influence the business environment. Mexico’s geography is diverse from tropical and temperate environments, and the fruits and vegetable products are mostly focused on the domestic market.
Assessing the Social-Cultural Environment
Mexico is a predominantly catholic country and the church is an important institution in the country. While Mexico borders the US, the society is less individualistic and more of a collectivist society where there is commitment to families including the extended family members. The society is also hierarchical unlike the society and this affects businesses as there is more centralized decision making in Mexico.
Assessing the Political-Legal Environment
Mexico‘s financial industry is well regulated financial, and there is good access to credit in the domestic and international markets. However, competition is limited as few foreign banks dominate the market (BMI, 2021). The country is a democratic republic, and the legal system is attractive for foreign investors, as there is equal treatment of all investors under law, commercial dispute resolution.
