Culture is a group or collection of attitudes, beliefs and customs that make an individual or a group distinguishable from the other. It can be transmitted through rituals, material, institution and even language. It dictates the way of life and how things should be carried out within the organization. On the other hand, strategy depicts the plan or methodology chosen to achieve an intended result or solution to a problem. Culture and strategy are interconnected, but culture follows strategy. Creating a strong culture takes time and dedication and would determine the overall success of the company.
Strategy is the primary determinant for the attainment of company’s goals and visions. Even if the company sticks with its right culture, it would not be sustainable in the long run without a clear set strategy.
