Best Work of Art
The best work of art was created through the use of a camera to take the photograph of the migrant mother. This is evident because there was a recording of light, which is made possible by the photographic film found on the camera. The camera creates photographs by using the lens, which focuses on visible wavelengths of light at the scene to create images, such as those visible by the human eye. Therefore, it is evident that a camera was used to capture and represent the image of the migrant mother. There were special skills required to take a photograph because it needs the photographer’s good attention to capture every detail. The photographer needed to be creative and have patience in concentration to take the detailed photograph of the scene with the migrant mother.
Also, the photographer needed to have skills to create a visual relationship of the elements in the photograph, such as the migrant mother and the kids to create a cohesive photograph as highlighted by Megan Kennedy (2011). The photograph was well crafted because it was detailed and had a masterful expression of light and dark objects. The work would have been more successful if the photographer shot the photograph in a monochrome setting where the camera uses different amounts of light instead of colour to capture and represent images as put across by MasterClass (2019). Here, the camera adds contrast and saturation that sharpens the image that is appealing to the eye.
