How will you approach your studies? What types of resources are available to you, and how will you access and utilize them? Taking the opportunity to prepare these strategies, tools, and materials will help ensure you can “break ground” without incident and successfully move to the phase where you begin building your vision.

Academic success and professional development might not be achieved when both resources and strategies are inadequate. Thus, I must organize essential resources and strategies that are tailored toward the overall goals in life and profession. I have identified core approaches to my success in my MSN program and nursing practice. I believe that such strategies are useful ingredients for the quality of services I intend to offer and fulfil my life aspirations.
Academic resource/strategy one: Professional and Peer Mentorship
More often, our future remains uncertain, and we do not always know what holds for us. We might not have a clearer picture of future professional trajectory. Most of the time, academic, professional, and career ambitions are determined by what we are doing now. Mentors are knowledgeable and experienced individuals who can guide us into the future. They are in a better position to know what beholds in the future, giving them a vantage point to provide professional advice. The professional mentors are people who are willing to share their extensive knowledge and experience in different realms of nursing and healthcare practice, in general. They are readily available to hold your hands as a student navigates through the academic and professional journey, which he or she may be unsure about its future trajectory pathways.
Besides, peer mentorship is of great help to students pursuing MSN programs and all other programs. Peer mentorship confers a range of benefits, including encouraging self-directed learning, nurturing relationships, providing both educational and emotional support, and developing both collaborative and leadership skills (Andersen & Watkins, 2018). Thomson, Docherty & Duffy (2017) also highlighted the importance of mentorship by indicating that mentorship programs are crucial approaches to transitions witnessed in diverse areas of nursing, including educational, clinical practice, and leadership. Thus, peer mentorship is a valuable educational strategy that needs a universal application in teaching and learning across various healthcare education settings.
