Question 1. The most challenging part of leadership is when to deliver bad news, I agree with Bart Egnal's characteristics of a good negative message. A good leader should adopt specific characteristics like courage when handling difficult conversations in order to stay focused on what needs to be done (Egnal 33). Being truthful and showing empathy are important virtues leaders need to adopt. A leader needs to take ownership and be accountable (Egnal 43).
Question 2. When addressing a product recall as the owners of a food manufacturing company, I would use indirect strategy in passing the message to the public.
