Key Players: Ren Sanspit, Changing Careers, Angie Grahm, Medical Technologist. Analysis of the most Preferred Candidate

This is a one to two page assignment requirement. I started the assignment but do not have time to finish it. Basically you are going to pick an employee for a job based on resume information and describe why or why not you chose each individual. I am hoping you have access to our sociology text book so you can refer to it to make a couple of sitings. Also I will provide our lecture so you can site from it as well.

Key Players

Ren Sanspit, Changing Careers

Pro’s~ Was a dentist. Has end user experience with medical products. Ren’s Dr. has told him this job will not be affected by his condition of arthritis. Ren is an empty nester, would not be preoccupied with the responsibilities of child rearing.

Con’s~ A diagnosis of arthritis made his career of being a dentist to painful. Ren was in a position to serve others, yet he makes what can be considered, a joke about it by stating, “I think working with people in sales would be more interesting than taking bite-wings and placing rubber dams,” I do not feel this is a professional statement to make in a resume. May have pain issues as his condition progresses with age and may need to miss work as arthritis pain can be debilitating. Even though Ren’s Dr. told him that his condition may not interfere with this job, it certainly was severe enough to end his career as a dentist. There is no way to predict how Ren’s arthritis pain will affect this job, no matter what his physician says. It is hard to imagine a person becoming a dentist and still feeling like they have not been successful in their life.

Angie Grahm, Medical Technologist

Pro’s~ Engineering major in college. Has designed medical devices in the past. Angie is good with people, and she working on improving her English speaking skills. Graduated first in her class. Angie has written an article and is published in a peer reviewed journal. Is an expert in the field of medical technology.

Con’s~ English is Angie’s second language.

Medica Seles, Informatics Consultant

Pro’s~ 5 years experience as a medical sale consult. Last company she worked at, Medica earned sales consultant of the year. Graduated top pf her class in healthcare informatics. Is getting married. Is relocating to Kansas City.

Con’s~ Does not state what her credentials are, but mentions that they are “stellar.”

Karen Comfort, BSN

Pro’s~ Karen Comfort holds a BSN. Is flexible for traveling. Can work long hours.

Con’s~ Description of experiences are vague. What is Karen’s actual job title? Resume states, “I have worked in so many different specialty practices,” this describes an employee that has not had a stable job, or that has changed jobs a lot. Karen is single, this could mean that she is difficult to get along with, or has interpersonal conflicts.
