Am a registered nurse pursuing for a degree with the emphasis in public health which will lead to me becoming a public health nurse. I want to evaluate my academic and career path. I will do this in the following steps: Firstly, I will identify the qualifications and experience required in this course. Secondly, I am going to identify the requirements provided in my program. Thirdly, I will identify the people relevant in my career. Fourthly, I will decide when I should make a connection between my course and career goals. Fifthly, I will identify the places where my career can be applied. Sixthly, I will identify the relevance of the peer-reviewed articles in my career. Lastly, I will identify a link between my course and my career and experience required. The aim of this research paper is to establish my academic and career path.
There are several requirements for one to become a certified public health nurse. These include the following: The most basic requirement is to take a four year course that will lead to a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college (Health.ny.gov, 2015). After obtaining the degree you should also train or rather work as a registered nurse. During your college life, you should also participate in community programs that provide you with training in subjects related to public health such as public policy and health administration (Explorehealthcareers.org, 2015). You should also pass the national licencing exam known as NCLEX-RN after graduating before you start your practice as a public health nurse (Explorehealthcareers.org, 2015). If you want to take supervisory roles you should have graduate education.
